A Gentle Footprint

The Nesting Post cottage and our residence on the property leave a gentle environmental footprint. We are proud to be completely off grid and aim to live sustainably in our contemporary world. Electricity is solar generated, with battery storage, precious rainwater is harvested and stored for all needs, including drinking, bathing and cooking and effluent is treated onsite. This treated wastewater is clean, but not potable, and irrigates the front lawn area.

Within its gentle footprint, The Nesting Post offers modern conveniences to ensure guests stay in premium comfort. We are grateful that guests are mindful that these resources are precious and use them wisely by conserving water, using the air-conditioners only when necessary and checking appliances and lights are switched off when leaving the cottage for any period.  

We care about the environment and the community we live in and are committed to ensuring we take a responsible approach when it comes to looking after our guests, team and business. We strive for The Nesting Post to be a leader for other micro providers in sustainable, off-grid accommodation by providing an enriching experience for our guests while safeguarding the environment for future generations. Although small, we offer guests an immersive experience in sustainable living and show how small, and big changes, can be made every day.  From installing solar electricity, maximising rainwater harvesting and sourcing eco-friendly products to finding ways to reduce and recycle waste, The Nesting Post is constantly looking for new solutions to improve.
