Caring for Biodiversity

Biodiversity Conservation

At The Nesting Post, we are deeply committed to preserving the natural beauty and ecological integrity of the Southern Downs region. Nestled amongst a rambling country garden, we have created a space of beauty to enjoy and have a responsibility to care for the fauna and flora within in. We do this by:

  • Adopting non-chemical weed control practices including hand weeding and mulching as much as possible

  • ·Using non-toxic and non-carcinogenic weed control products sparingly

  • Zero use of glyphosate

  • Build soil health through mulching

  • Plant selection, of species with proven suitability and easy propagation.

There is an abundance of wildlife surrounding The Nesting Post. Guests are advised not to approach, engage with or feed any wildlife.

If you see a snake do not approach it and please leave it alone. Snakes are generally shy and will not attack unless provoked, so it’s best to leave them be on their way.
